Shipping Updates

May 9th, 2023: We enabled FedEx as a shipping method for most of countries.

June 16th, 2022: From July 1st, 2022, customers based in Taiwan will be legally required to create and use EZ WAY, to receive any package bought from a foreign country. Failing to register for this app will cause your package to fail the customs check and be returned to Japan. You can download the app here.

April 28th, 2021: We will be closed April 29th, May 3rd - May 5th in observance of the Japanese Golden Week Holidays. During this time, we'll be unable to reply to email inquires and ship packages. We're very sorry for the delay. We'll begin replying to emails and shipping packages in the order they were received on Friday, May 6th.

March 8th, 2022: Japan Post has suspended mail to the UK and France due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. We've enabled DHL Express to these countries. 

March 1st, 2022: Japan Post has suspended mail to Austria, Netherlands, Sweden, Czech Republic, Denmark, Norway, Hungary, Poland, Portugal, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Luxembourg, Cape Verde, North Macedonia, Greenland, Croatia, and Slovenia. We've enabled DHL Express to these countries. 

February 24th, 2022: There have been significant customs delays in the Netherlands with PostNL, so we've decided to temporarily suspend Japan Post mail to the Netherlands and enable DHL Express. Once the Netherlands can deliver mail promptly, we'll re-enable Japan Post shipping options.

February 10th, 2022: We will be closed February 11th and February 23rd due to national holidays in Japan. On those days we'll be unable to reply to email inquires and ship packages. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes you. We'll begin replying to emails and shipping packages in the order they were received the next business day.

December 29th, 2021: We will be closed December 30th through January 2nd for the New Years holidays. We'll be unable to reply to email inquires and ship packages. We're very sorry for the delay. We'll begin replying to emails and shipping packages in the order they were received on Monday, January 3rd.

November 2nd, 2021: We will be closed November 3rd in observance of a national Japanese holiday. We'll be unable to reply to email inquires and ship packages. We're very sorry for the delay. We'll begin replying to emails and shipping packages in the order they were received on Thursday, November 4th.

September 28th, 2021: We will be moving our office and warehouse to Yokohama, Japan. We will be closed from September 30th through October 3rd. During this time we'll be unable to ship packages or reply to e-mail inquires. We'll begin replying to emails and shipping packages in the order they were received on Monday, October 4th.

September 17th, 2021: We will be closed on Monday, September 20th, and Thursday, September 23rd, in observance of Japanese national holidays. We'll be unable to reply to email inquires and ship packages while our office is closed. We'll begin replying to emails and shipping packages in the order received on the next business day.

August 6th, 2021: We will be closed on Monday, August 9th, in observation of a Japanese national holiday. We'll be unable to reply to email inquires and ship packages. We're very sorry for the delay. We'll begin replying to emails and shipping packages in the order they were received on Tuesday, August 10th.

July 19th, 2021: We will be closed Thursday, July 22nd and Friday, July 23rd in observation of Japanese national holidays. During this time, we'll be unable to reply to email inquires and ship packages. We're very sorry for the delay. We'll begin replying to emails and shipping packages in the order they were received on Monday, July 26th.

June 29th, 2021: EMS is now available for the United States. EMS generally takes 3-5 business days to most countries and ships with tracking. However, the Japan Post website presently mentions that pandemic-related shipping delays are expected. Please keep this in mind when selecting EMS to the USA.

May 25th, 2021: We are now able to ship to most countries via DHL Express if Japan Post isn't shipping to your country. If you're unable to checkout or have questions, please email us at help@omgjapan.com

May 24th, 2021: DHL Express has resumed shipping to most cities in Myanmar and the Philippines. However, we're only able to ship books and Japanese language products to the Philippines at this time.

May 13th, 2021: Spain, Ireland, Chile: There are currently long delays with EMS, international ePacket, and printed-matter. If you're located in one of these countries and would like to receive your package quickly, please contact us and request DHL Express.

February 22nd, 2021: We will be closed Tuesday, February 23rd in observance of the Emperor's Birthday. We'll resume shipping and responding to emails on Wednesday, February 24th. 

February 10th, 2021: We will be closed Thursday February 11th, for National Foundation Day in Japan. We will resume shipping and replying to emails on Friday February 12th.

January 22nd, 2021: Spain appears to be very overwhelmed and shipments to Spain are currently taking around 4-5 weeks for delivery. 

New Years Holiday Notice: We will be closed from December 31st - January 3rd. We will resume shipping and responding to email inquiries on Monday, January 4th.

December 24th, 2020: We will be closed on Christmas Day, December 25th. We will resume shipping and replying to emails on Monday, December 28th.

November 27th, 2020: Due to the increase in orders for Black Friday, please allow 5-7 business days before your order is shipped.

November 26th, 2020: Japan Post has suspended mail to Canada. We've enabled DHL Express for our Canada customers. If you have any trouble checking out, please email us an email at help@omgjapan.com

November 20th, 2020: We will be closed Monday, November 23rd in observation of Labor Thanksgiving Day in Japan. We will resume shipping, processing orders and replying to emails on Tuesday, November 24th.

November 2nd, 2020:  We will be closed Tuesday, November 3rd in observation of Culture Day in Japan. We will resume shipping, processing orders and replying to emails on Wednesday, November 4th. 

October 8th, 2020: Many countries are still experiencing delays with postal services. Packages mailed via Japan Post are departing Japan quickly, but can experience delays in their destination country due to issues with local post offices. Please be advised that delays can occur. Note: Canada Post has decided to stop tracking international registered mail. Once a package departs Japan, it will not be trackable. 

September 18th, 2020: We will be closed September 19th - 22nd JST in observation of holidays in Japan. We’ll begin to process orders and reply to emails received during this time on September 23rd. 

August 27th, 2020: We can ship to nearly every country with DHL Express. Please try and checkout on omgjapan.com with your address. If you receive an error and do not see a shipping rate, please email help@omgjapan.com and we'll see if DHL is available for you!

August 6th, 2020: Japan Post Airmail is now available for Azerbaijan, Slovakia, Belarus, Malta, and North Macedonia. EMS Express and Airmail are now available for Turkey, Sri Lanka, and Tunisia.

July 22nd, 2020: Our offices will be closed July 23rd - July 26th in observation of Japanese National Holidays. We will resume shipping and reply to email inquiries on Monday, July 27th.

July 1st, 2020: Japan Post has resumed EMS and Airmail service to Italy, New Zealand, and China. We will begin shipping previously returned orders to those countries and pending orders to those countries as soon as possible.

June 29th, 2020: We've added DHL Express shipping to the USA and Australia. USA and Australian customers are now able to checkout and ship via DHL. We're working to add more countries soon. If you're located in the USA and you have an unshipped package and would like to upgrade to DHL, please send us an email at help@omgjapan.com

June 18th, 2020: Japan Post has resumed EMS and airmail service to the following countries: Estonia, Austria, Croatia, Sweden, Spain, Slovenia, Czech, Denmark, Norway, Hungary, Bulgaria, Belgium, Poland, Portugal, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg. We will begin shipping previously returned orders to those countries and pending orders to those countries as soon as possible.

June 4th, 2020: Japan Post has announced they will accept packages to Switzerland, Botswana, and Curacao via select shipping methods. Please see the list of countries below that we can currently ship to.

May 11th, 2020: Please see the list of countries below that we're able to ship to BEFORE placing your order. Please expect delays with all shipping methods.

April 23rd, 2020: All mail to the United States has been temporarily suspended by the Japan Post. We're unable to ship any unshipped orders to the United States at the moment. If you're located in the USA and you need your order quickly, please do not place an order. We've also updated the list of suspended countries below to include some others besides the USA.

April 20th, 2020: EMS appears to be delayed 2-3 weeks and other shipping methods are delayed 3-4 weeks. This is in addition to their usual transit times. Japan Post assures us they're working hard to push as many packages out as possible, but there is a severe lack of flights out of Japan.

April 9th, 2020: Japan Post suspended mail to additional countries. Please check the list below. Most notably, they suspended mail to Australia, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and Vietnam.

April 1st, 2020: Japan Post announced they would suspend mail services to a total of 155 countries with the exception of the United Kingdom, France, and some others. Please expect long delays with all shipping methods. There are very few flights out of Japan and Japan Post is working as hard as they can to get all of the packages shipped.
